Can’t sign into my Y! Small Business account to update credit card #?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under small business accounting services | 1 Comment »

I have my free Y! id, but I also have a Small Business account, with a domain & email account associated. My bank recently changed my credit card number, and I simply need to sign into my Small Business account to update the number.

When I go into My Account, and ask to Manage My Premium Services, it asks me for my password again — fine, but no matter what I do, it won’t go past the screen asking for my password! I’m not entering it incorrectly (& my capslock isn’t on), because I’m not getting an error message. I’ve tried an incorrect password, and then I do get an error message. It just keeps asking over & over again for my password, but never brings me further so I can update my account.

I’ve tried contacting Customer Service 3 times now, but they’re not responding… I’ve tried arranging a callback (they never called) and tried through the online Help Page.

Can anyone offer some advice? I really don’t want to lose my Small Business domain name & email account!

Here are a few things to try.
Clear your history, temporary files (this one takes a while – wait for the hourglass to stop) & cookies, restart the computer and retry. . Here is the HELP link for how to do this in different browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/settings/settings-13.html

Also: If it is STILL doing it, scripting may be disabled in your Internet Explorer. This may happen due to updates. To enable scripting, follow the instructions on this HELP page (it is for Messenger, but it may help here as well): http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger75/entertainment/entertainment-35.html

Or try this link to switch back to Classic:

If none of this works, contact:

I own a small business, wondering if possible to do all of our taxes in quickbooks?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under small business accounting services | 4 Comments »

Two partners own an S-Corp with no payroll in Missouri. We do less than $10,000 in business per year. Tired of paying a large chunk of our income to an accounting service. Is it possible, and if so, is it terribly difficult to do? Thanks!

We are a small S-Corp general contractor in FL. We do between $200,000 and 1 million every year (well, except for the last two years which have been a little rougher).

I’m my husband’s sole office person and I’ve been doing our taxes for 5 years using Quickbooks. Prior to me taking over his office, he used to just save all his invoices and receipts and ship it off to his accountant. I now do all the P&L statements and write-offs and I fill out the IRS forms. We pay our accountant exactly $100 a year to look over my work and actually file the things. I have yet to make a mistake, the accountant says I’m doing a fine job with it…we are saving hundreds, if not thousands of dollars my husband used to spend on accounting fees, and we haven’t been audited.

Looking for accountant to give me two hours of free advice on small business?

Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 and filed under small business accounting services | 5 Comments »

I can imagine if you’re reading this the laughter.
But I’m as serious as I am "poor".

In a nutshell, I’m trying to help a friend(at not cost to her) set up accounting books for her small business.
Her business is running a childcare. It’s purely a service business with no assets to speak of, or inventory.
From the library I borrowed "Small Business Accounting/Simplified" which suggested she operate under a modified "single-entry accounting system" since the business is pure service with all income in cash or checks.

At the end of this book are copies of all income tax forms which a small business might find necessary (with instructions for each). I have not read any of this section.

What I hope to find is probably a retired accountant who can give me a few hours of his/her time to make sure I know what I’m doing. (at the moment I’m not confident at all).

I live in New Rochelle, N.Y and the childcare is also located in this city. I can travel to most parts of Westchester County or New York City if necessary to receive instructions.

    Thanks for any advice.
    Tony

Tony I can tell u don’t have a clue and that is ok most of of us are asking question because of this very exact reason. So form the outset, assets in this case would be the business it self if it is making money. Next inventory, is anything that help you run the business from a daycare prospective i imagine that you would have books, toys, cots, easels, mats, book shelf’s, these items would be inventory. Inventory is somethings that you can sell and get some money back. this is called tangible assets, liquid assets are monetary items stock, bonds, bank CDs these things. All you need is a basic accounting book for money in-comings is what the parents pay you weekly and what you pay out electric, gas, you purchase food, pampers, clothes, or anything that you pay for and you write these things down just like you do in your everyday home expenditures. this is your basic need there is a sheet in that book like that just look for in and copy it several times. Where to get attorney help, On inline type SCORE.COM this is an organization that help small businesses get started on the advise you are looking for, hope this helps. Yes they have retired attorneys.

Yahoo done un-authorize transaction ! to my account please away YAHOO Small Business service !!!!!!?

Posted by admin on February 28th, 2010 and filed under small business accounting services | 2 Comments »

i purchase Domains name with Yahoo, and i had old Credit Card infor not up to date in yahoo account, but surpricely yahoo charge me without my CC information to my CC! please away your CC information in yahoo, either you cancel yahoo account or use other domains provider!!!! i naver have this kind of think happening in my domains name register with other company! away yahoo.com away yahoo.com away yahoo.com away yahoo.com !

I’m having exactly the same problem – a $50(AUD) charge for a single .com, now cancelled, was charged to an expired card and somehow shows up on my current credit card bill!! :-[

And actually, there is no way to call yahoo from outside USA, the only way to "contact" them seems to be to choose from a list of questions that other people have already asked.

is the credit card payment option the only way to fund a yahoo small business website?

Posted by admin on February 26th, 2010 and filed under small business accounting services | 3 Comments »

I am trying to find out if you can fund the yahoo web hosting service for small business by any other means than a credit card account such as pay pal or direct deposit

A credit card assures Yahoo that they’re dealing with an adult, which is always a concern. Howeverm there is a way to use your PayPal account, which is to apply for and get the PayPal debit card and use that to pay for the Small Business site. It takes money directly from your PayPal account.
